On the Streets of Brisbane

Im on the transition from DSLR to a Mirrorless system - In particular the Canon R5. So many pros and cons on both sides but for me the winners are way better video, amazing focus, eye tracking, lighter body and stabilisation for both stills and video. Shooting lots of commuter movement in the Queen Street Mall gave me a chance to test all the different focus modes. So many choices it’s going to take some time to have it all tucked away in my muscle memory. I shot at f1.8 so had very little latitude and nailed about 80% focus on eyes in very low light - something I would rarely achieve with my DSLR system.

The future is looking bright and in focus…yeh
